Alabaster celebrates his birthday on October 31st. • Background •
Alabaster was born as Prince "Satan" in the depths of Hell and was the result of the unholy copulation between the Lord of Greed, Mammon, and the Queen of Demons, Baphomet. Despite his incredible power and high ranking station as a Prince of Hell, he quickly gained a disdain for his creators. Baphomet loved him dearly, but her focus was primarily on the mortal world and the denizens within. As a result, she left him under Mammon's care, but the Lord of Greed saw him as a potential usurper of his position and chained Satan down deep within the depths of his lair.
Prince Satan would spend a millennium in Hell in the recesses of Mammon's castle, surrounded by the greedy dragon's ever increasing hordes of stolen treasures. |
As the horde around him grew larger and larger, so did the demonic prince's anger and hatred for his captor. It became raw...distilled...it became power: "Wrath." Satan broke free from his binds, destroying everything in his path until he found his "father." A battle exploded between the newly "born" Lord of Wrath and the draconic Lord of Greed. Satan won the battle, but Mammon banished him from Hell in a last ditch effort to save himself. Now trapped in the mortal world and seething after being denied his revenge, Satan began to take his wrath out on mortals. Satan would ravage villages indiscriminately and manipulate mortals from the shadows; tempting them with demonic deals, stealing their souls, and getting them to perform "sins" against Baphomet and Mammon.
Eventually a cult formed around him and he found himself surrounded by mortals, mostly goblins, who worshiped him incessantly. Initially he treated them purely as tools; beings to be manipulated and used in any way to get back at his creators....but over time, Satan realized that he didn't have any ill-will towards mortals. After all, they had nothing to do with his fate. As much as he loathed to admit it, he soon found himself enjoying the mortals that so adored him. He became attached to them just like his mother, Baphomet. Satan created a kingdom in the far north for his cult, hidden away within a harsh snowy landscape that was uninhabitable for those that weren't under his protection. This is when he took the title "Lord of Alabaster," which over time simply became his new name, "Alabaster."

This is when he took the title "Lord of Alabaster," which over time simply became his new name, "Alabaster."
Alabaster, still a Prince of Hell, often took great pleasure in toying with mortals and devouring their souls, but he treated his followers well and often bestowed gifts upon them. His corrupt kingdom increased in scope, but with it, fear of his name. He found himself playing a similar game to his creators and wasn't getting back at them at all.
Alabaster realized he had lost his way and sulked for a while until one day, like a bolt from the blue, inspiration struck. He knew the perfect way to spite his creators. While he couldn't deny his nature as a cruel, wrathful demon; he could focus it towards spiting Mammon. What better way to get back at the Lord of Greed than to become the embodiment of Charity? And if he was good enough at it, he could convince all mortals that he was a being that should be worshiped over Baphomet. |
Alabaster took it upon himself to give gifts to mortals across the world, although he would need an alias. He twisted his true name into an anagram; Satan, the hellish being that was feared and reviled by most mortals, became "Santa," a mythical figure delivered joy and gifts every year.
Time passed and "Santa" became beloved amongst mortals, all of whom where completely unaware that the myth of a jolly old man was in actuality a cranky old demon from Hell. Alabaster began to slip into his old habits while acting as "Santa." He couldn't deny his deep desires to to be a monster, especially towards those he felt weren't worthy of his generosity, so he devised a second "persona" as an outlet. If "Santa" was going to be the spirit of winter who gives gifts to the good...then there would be a counterpart to punish the naughty in any way he saw fit. He settled on the name "Krampus" for this persona after hearing one of his goblins mistakenly call him "Krampa" when attempting to say "Grandpa."
Alabaster has continued his self-appointed duty every year without fail, continuing to deliver gifts to all of the "good" people in the mortal world every Christmas and punishing the "naughty." He's effectively succeeded in his goals of spiting Mammon and becoming more beloved in the eyes of mortals than Baphomet, yet still continues. He'll never admit it, but he enjoys seeing the mortal world become a happier place.

• Personality •
Alabaster can be described as a "grumpy, dirty old man." He is often irritable about something or other and tends to give into his vices with very little resistance. He often is in an amorous mood and claims it helps him relieve his pent up stress and frustration. He enjoys acting cruelly towards mortals when the mood arises, often tempting them into unknowingly agreeing to being his toy or meal. Despite being a monstrous demon who continues to devour mortals and offer skewed demonic deals, he loves mortals and has started to see himself as their "grandfather." He can genuinely be kindhearted and sweet, and has a particular soft-spot for children and goblins.
Alabaster has his own mind about things as far as what is best for mortals, and uses his roles as Santa and Krampus to "gently nudge" things by rewarding and punishing behavior. He is well aware that he is not too different from Baphomet, but he will never admit it. He dislikes both Baphomet and Mammon, but has a particular hatred towards the latter that still burns brightly. He can bring himself to tolerate Baphomet for short periods of time, but will often outright attempt to fight Mammon should they meet.

• Abilities •
Alabaster is host to an unknowable amount of demonic magic due to his position as Satan, Lord of Wrath. From hellish fire to chilling ice blasts, he can conjure any element he pleases. Teleporting, shapeshifting, mind manipulation, and more are just the surface of what he can do.
Alabaster constantly radiates a gentle warmth no matter the temperature and has the unusual ability of "magic breath." While this can manifest as fire breath or similar, he often uses it to manifest objects from another location. These are typically presents. If he attempts to use his magic breath and fails to produce a flame, object or any other element, he will hack up a lump of coal instead.
